Here is a quick update for next week:
UOI - Our exhibition groups are well and truly on their way. There will be time every day next week where both grade 5 and 6 will be working on researching, finding, and sorting out information for their inquiry. Last Thursday, Ms. Luz and Ms. Olivia as well as some staff came in as mentor volunteers to help guide and encourage our exhibition groups. A very warm thank you to all volunteers! Math - A deeper look into measurement of volume of objects will be looked at this week with some mental calculation skills involved! English - For BtN this week, students will find out about the latest ransomware attacks, which clearly links in with one of our exhibition groups. Students will also be given time to use the BtN archive to find any helpful resources for their exhibition. Chinese - 1. grammar teaching: “的、地、得” 练习与测试。 2. Chinese culture 元诗词《天净沙.秋思》3. writing practice <一个误会 >. Homework -- complete the composition <一个误会>. This is an interesting math problem. I have 3 math equations that are INCORRECT. Your job is to identify the error and come up with your own math equation that has the same kind of mistake.
Here is an example: If I wrote "35 + 29 = 54" you can see that I have added the tens incorrectly because I went from left to right with carrying over. You would then write something like "45 + 39 = 74" to show me that you understand the error of the problem. 1. 5x3+4 = 35 2. 75 - 66 = 141 3. 25 x 5 = 100 It has been an interesting week! On Wednesday, both grade 5 and 6 were able to check out the Canadian Internatonal's School PYP exhibition. This was a great experience for the students to get inspired for their own exhibtion coming up in mid-June! Both grade 5 and 6 have started to brainstorm and think about the issues they want to dwelve in for the upcoming exhibition.
