Welcome back from the week long break. We trust that as we face the last remaining weeks of the school year, your children will make the most out of the learning opportunities that we have. We have a busy few weeks coming up - tying up final assignments, working together with grade 5 to lead a dynamic PYP exhibition and a student led conference.
Here is a list of upcoming important dates you may want to take note of. More details will be communicated as they come through: Student Led Conference - 9th June PYP Exhibition - 13th June Grade 6 Graduation - 14th June Here is a look at what we plan to do next week: Units Of Inquiry - For the summative task for this unit, students are researching a person who has promoted peace. They will work towards creating a biography of this person. Research skills, writing skills and presentation skills will be assessed. This week, students worked together to create the assessment rubric for this assignment. Mathematics Inquiry - This week, we looked at angles of differing shapes and figured out shortcut strategies to measure them by using our knowledge of geometry. Next week, some hands on activities are planned to consolidate their understanding of these elements. English Inquiry - For Behind the News next week, students will enquire into North Korea and why the news has brought so much attention to this country recently. We will link this inquiry to our current UOI, which looks at maintaining peaceful strategies around the world.
